Warranty

Once the new-car warranty expires, a Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen vehicle has a 24-month / 24,000-mile (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty starting from the date of the CPO sale. Among the areas covered are engine, transmission, steering, brakes, axles, heating/air conditioning, electrical systems, and manual or manufacturing defects. Volkswagen charges a $50 deductible for work carried out under the CPO warranty. Since parts for German cars are usually quite pricey, this should not be a deal-breaker. There's also a $150 fee when transferring the CPO warranty from one owner to the next. For greater peace of mind, VW offers the opportunity of extending the warranty up to 100,000 miles and the cost could be absorbed into the finance deal.
