Used Ford Thunderbirds Major Redesigns
2002 – The twelfth and final generation of the Thunderbird was redesigned in an attempt to capture the romance of the earlier years. The Thunderbird had now returned to its original two-seater roadster form.
1989 – The size of the Thunderbird continued to grow when the eleventh generation hit the market. This generation also saw the introduction of the Super-Coupe, which boasted a 3.9-liter V6 engine.
1983 – In 1982, Thunderbird sales were declining. In response, Ford once again completely overhauled the vehicle's design. The new design emphasized aerodynamic efficiency.
1972 – This sixth generation Thunderbird was drastically different than its original design. Measuring in at 214 inches and 4140 pounds, this monster car was stripped of much of the traditional Thunderbird styling.
1955 – Introduced in 1955, this two-seater luxury roadster was dramatically different than the coupes, station wagons and sedans that were currently on the market.
