The Mini was originally created by the British Motor Corp. in 1959 to be a super small vehicle that could conserve gas and navigate tight city streets. While the original Minis only had 34 horsepower under the hood, they received a significant power upgrade a few years later and took off in popularity. They were imported to America in 1962, where they also enjoyed huge sales. While Minis were pulled from America in 1968 and Great Britain in 2000, they were brought back by BMW in 2002 both in England and America.
In MINI's second incarnation, it quickly developed a reputation for fun, small vehicles. Today's MINI Cooper and its several variations are based on solid BMW engineering and years of development. If you're looking for a small car that's great on gas while still featuring plenty of performance and attitude, consider a MINI Cooper. Browse the models below to learn more.
