Created in 1926, Mercedes-Benz has always been known for developing some of the finest vehicles out in the market. Long known for crafting vehicles that emphasize luxury and refinement, Mercedes has been seen by many consumers as a symbol for status, success, and achievement. In the 1990s, Mercedes vehicles got an extra boost in power thanks to a partnership with the performance and tuning shop AMG. The first AMG-tuned vehicle was released in 1995, and since then Mercedes has begun to offer AMG variants of most of their vehicles. Today, Mercedes-Benz sports its largest and most comprehensive lineup yet, featuring a variety of sedans, coupes, SUVs, and roadsters.

Major Mercedes-Benz Redesigns in 2006
Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Mercedes has discontinued the C-Class wagon and coupe, leaving only the sedan. New V6 engines have been released, giving the driver the choice between a 201-horsepower, 2.5-liter, a 220-horsepower 3.0-liter, or a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter engine.
Mercedes-Benz CL-Class - The big news for the CLs in 2006 is that the AMG Sport package is now standard, giving the CL a boost in overall power.
Mercedes-Benz M-Class - The new M-Class comes with more power and better handling. Even though the body sees an increase in length and width, the storage space for the M-Class has been dropped to increase cabin space for passengers.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class - The S-Class gains a new base entry level version that runs on a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 241 horsepower, but still includes a slew of luxury features typically seen in Mercedes.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class - The CLS is an all-new sedan by Mercedes that has a visual presence that its competitors just can’t match. Powering the CLS is a 5.0-liter V8 engine connected to Mercedes’ seven-speed automatic transmission. While its sharp and sexy exterior design does wonders on the eye, the cabin space is cut, most noticeably in the back.
Mercedes-Benz R-Class - When you cross a minivan with an SUV, you get Mercedes’ new R-Class premium wagon. All-wheel drive is standard for the R-Class, and drivers can choose between a 3.5-liter, 263-horsepower V6 engine or a 5.0-liter, 302-horsepower V8. The R-Class seats 6 comfortably, and Mercedes made the third-row seats more accessible thanks to larger rear doors and spring-loaded second-row seats that move out of the way easily.
